Job Search and Apply
Applying to join Baker Hughes is a surprisingly simple three-stage process:
1. Online application
Go to the global map, select the region of the world you’re eligible to work in, and review the current opportunities. Select the position that interests you and follow the instructions to complete your online application. At this stage, we’ll be considering your general technical understanding and your job preferences. You will be asked a series of questions to help us understand your strengths and determine your suitability for the role for which you have applied. You should only apply to those positions where you have the legal right to work without restrictions.
2. Selection process
We use a structured process to select and assess applicants. A variety of selection methods are used to determine and identify the right candidates with the right skills:
For field engineer candidates only, the Baker Hughes Experience is our 2-day assessment center, which takes place at a venue in your region. It is an opportunity for you to learn more about us and what we do, as well as for us to meet you and learn about your strengths, skills, experience, and career ambitions.
If you meet our criteria, we’ll make you an offer, subject to clearing pre-employment checks.
If you are applying to a position in the US and you are an individual with disability or a disabled veteran and would like any type of assistance to submit an application or to attend any recruitment or selection event, we would like to help you to ensure that your experience is as smooth as possible.
If you need assistance, information, or answers to your questions, feel free to contact us or have any of your representatives contact us at Baker Hughes Application Assistance Toll Free at 1-866-324-4562. This method of contact has been put in place ONLY to be used by those internal and external applicants who have a disability and are requesting accommodation.
For all other inquiries on your application, log in to your profile and click on the “My Jobpage” tab. General application status inquiries will not be handled by the call center.
Useful tips on making a successful application
1. Don’t rush, take your time
We want to know more about you and what you can bring to us. Take the time to complete your application, including drafting your resume or CV, to ensure that it demonstrates your strengths, skills, and work experience. You may wish for someone else to review it before submission.
2. Saving your searches
Once you have registered and logged into the system, it is possible to save the job and revisit our site to apply. You will be able to apply to the position as long as it is still open to receive applications. To access the saved searches list, you need to log in and go to My Job Page. You will see a list of jobs that you have saved. Here you have the option to Apply or to Remove the item from your search list.
3. Provide as much detail as you can
Make sure that you complete each of the sections in the online application form, detailing your education, work experience, and extracurricular activities. We are always keen to hear about what you do in your spare time. You will also be asked to complete an online questionnaire to provide additional information about your skills and work experience relevant to the job for which you are applying.
4. Attach supporting documentation
If you have any course certifications, references, or other relevant information that you would like us to know about, feel free to attach the documents to your application.
5. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements
Ensure that you meet all of the minimum criteria for the job, including the legal right to work in the country without restrictions. The requirements for the job are detailed within the job posting.
